The Citroën Brand

During the First World War André-Gustave Citroën built armaments for France. However, he knew that unless he planned for the future, his factory would no longer have a product to provide. As such, over 100 years ago in 1919 the Citroën brand was born with the goal of creating a lighter car, of good quality, but made in such a high volume that it can be priced enticingly. Simply put, he wanted a better equipped, more robust, and less costly vehicle than his rivals.

Citroën’s first car was announced just four months after the end of the First world War. Called the Type A, this vehicle was produced from the June of 1919 all the way up to December 1921 and its final drive (in particular the bevel gear with herringbone teeth) was the inspiration behind the Citroën logo.

However, in the 1970s Automobiles Citroën and Automobiles Peugeot were merged into a single company which became known as PSA Peugeot Citroën in’74. Then a few years later in ’78 PSA purchased Chrysler Europe. Over the years they have acquired a variety of other car brands, resulting in the following brands being under the Groupe PSA company: Citroën, DS, Ambassador, Opel, Peugeot, Vauxhall, and Aixam.

What Spare Parts For Citroën Commercials Vehicles Are Available From Goldstar?

Our online store has a diverse selection of replacement Citroën parts to choose from, including but not limited to:

  • Body Panels
These components are not merely there for aesthetic reasons; they also have a very important safety function.

In order to absorb some of the impact of a collision, body panels are designed with special zones that crumple upon impact, this increases the amount of time it takes for the vehicle to change momentum. The increase in time is somewhat similar to bending your legs as you land after a jump.

  • Engine Blocks
Also sometimes referred to as the cylinder block, the engine block is the foundation of the engine, large tubes called cylinders are cast into this integrated structure, which provides the engine’s pistons with the space to slide up and down. In addition to this, the engine block also has passageways that allow for oil and coolant to flow to the necessary areas of the engine.

  • Exhausts
Directing fumes away from the driver and passengers, improving fuel consumption, and improving the engine performance, the exhaust is a critical component that plays many roles and as such it’s essential that it is well maintained and kept in good condition.

However, if you are concerned that there may be a fault with your vehicle’s exhaust, some signs that your exhaust may be in need of repair or placement include a decrease in power and acceleration, a decrease in the fuel efficiency, or a smell of gas.

  • Gearbox Parts
A gearbox is a mechanical unit that consists of integrated gears within a housing. It functions like any other system of gears; altering torque and speed of the vehicle. The gearbox provides a selection of gears for the vehicle to drive in different conditions such as standard start or climbing a hill. In general, the lower the gear the slower the wheels will turn in relation to the speed of the engine.

There are numerous different signs that there may be a fault with your vehicle’s gearbox, including but not limited to: leaking fluid, a strange smell, unexpected knocking and clanking sounds, failure to engage a gear, or something as simple as a warning light on your dashboard.

  • Safety Airbags
Numerous components in a vehicle contribute to safety, however if your vehicle’s airbags are damaged, they could result in significant injury.

This is because of how an airbag deploys. In the event of a collision, a small chemical explosive creates nitrogen or argon gas that fills a nylon airbag. However, damage to the airbag could result in an explosion upon deployment, which could cause very serious injury to individuals affected.

  • Seatbelts
When worn correctly and kept in good condition, a seatbelt could save your life. However, if a seatbelt malfunctions due to improper installation or poor condition, they could be the cause of significant injuries, possibly even death.

It’s important to note that it isn’t just failure to wear a seatbelt that can be lethal; not wearing one correctly can also be extremely dangerous. A small amount of slack could cause the individual to be thrown around the vehicle, possibly even outside of the vehicle itself.
